When handling any of these problems, we adhere to a basic process that involves sanding down visible chips and cracks, then filling them in with waterproof polyester resins. We then apply an acrylic enamel coating and complete a full tub reglazing process. The result is that the once visible chips and cracks “blend” into the surrounding surface and are hidden from view.
If your bathtub is chipping and there are no other deeper issues, then your tub may only need a quick repaint and recoat. Resurfacing and reglazing is better suited for bathtubs that have liner issues and need more than just a new coat of paint.
