Southpoint Neighborhood in Jacksonville, Florida

If you are planning a vacation, you might want to consider spending the night in the Southpoint Neighborhood, a part of Jacksonville city, FL. This neighborhood is safe, quiet, and offers plenty of options for lodging and dining. Although not as cosmopolitan as other neighborhoods, it retains a distinct character and is within walking distance of many Jacksonville attractions, including Dog Wood Park of Jacksonville and Flight Adventure Park Jacksonville. As one of the city’s most thriving commercial districts, located just 8 miles from Downtown, the neighborhood features many commercial buildings, complexes, professional office centers, and several apartments.

The Southpoint Neighborhood is home to the Jaguars' TIAA Bank Field, a 67-acre stadium that last underwent renovation in 2016. The team has won three division championships but has yet to make it to the Super Bowl. A monument in black granite stands guard at the TIAA Bank Field, honoring veterans of all wars since World War I. The Southpoint also features a smoked wing in blackberry sauce. It is also home to St. Luke's Hospital, now known as St. Vincent's Medical Center Southside. It was opened in 1984 and is located on the corner of Southpoint.

The Southpoint neighborhood is also home to many attractions, with a population of over 8,000, and is located just four blocks from the beaches. Nearby attractions include the San Marco Theater, an art museum, and a 250-year-old oak tree. Residents also enjoy Jacksonville Beachfront Marriott, which features various room sizes and amenities. In addition to the beach, the neighborhood features numerous restaurants and bars. With over 20 craft breweries in the city, it's no wonder the beer scene in Jacksonville is in rude health. A beer trail is available, linking breweries with restaurants. Visit the French Pantry, or Applebee's Grill + Bar while in the neighborhood for a real treat.

In addition to restaurants, Southpoint offers great shopping. Aside from the local candy factory, visitors to Southpoint can visit the Jacksonville Contemporary Museum, a modern educational museum. The neighborhood is also well-connected to the rest of Downtown. Although there are a number of public transit options in Southpoint, tourists will probably want to rent a car to travel around. This neighborhood is best for families. The amenities offered by the nearby Riverside District make it a great place to spend the night.
