The Zoo is open from September through March, so you can plan ahead.
When hungry, you'll be pleased to know there are two eateries on site: The Main Camp Café and the Play Park Cafe. Both have excellent food options. The two restaurants offer American fast-casual food, such as hot dogs, hamburgers, and sandwiches. If you don't feel like fast-casual foods, you can also visit the Kona Ice Truck next door to the Main Camp Cafe. Another place of interest in Jacksonville is Jacksonville International Airport.
